Campbell, Sprayberry Tournaments Open Season of Competition In CCJBC
October 15, 2017 Smyrna, Ga. - The 41st season of competition in the CCJBC has begun in earnest. The Campbell Junior Spartans and the Sprayberry Jr. Jackets hosted exciting and well attended tournaments this weekend. At Campbell, home of the post season All Star festivities, Alexander 8th Grade boys defeated Kennesaw Mountain, Pebblebrook 8th Grade Girls defeated Kennesaw Mountain, Campbell 7th Grade Boys defeated Wheeler, Pebblebrook 7th Grade Girls defeated Hiram, Hiram 6th Grade Boys defeated Wheeler, and Marietta 6th Grade Girls defeating Wheeler were all champions of their grades in the 2nd year of this tourney.
At Sprayberry, 6th Grade girls had Pope defeating Walton, 6th Grade Boys had Sprayberry beating Tru Elite, 7th Grade Girls had Sprayberry defeating Pope, 7th Grade Boys had Sprayberry defeating Kennesaw Mountain, 8th Grade Girls had Kell defeat Sprayberry and the 8th grade Boys saw Kell defeat Pope.
Tournaments will continue next weekend with rumors of a very competitive tourney being formed at Kell and the Annual John Kelly Tourney at South Cobb. Harrison and Alexander will also host tournaments next weekend. Please click here for details.
CCJBC programs Northview and Pope made news today - albeit for parallel reasons. Kudos to the Jr. Greyhounds, who became the first program to fulfill their financial obligations with the league for the 2017-2018 season. The traditionally competitive program resides in Region 3 where their future battles with Sequoyah, Creekview and Alpharetta will be must see.
On a different note, the Northview Titans will not compete in the CCJBC during the 2017-2018 season.

BREAKING NEWS -- August 6, 2017 (Marietta, Georgia) -- Preparation for the 41st season of the Cobb County Junior Basketball season has begun. On Sunday August 20th at 5:00 P.M, a meeting of the executive board will be held at Bub Ba Q restaurant in Woodstock. "We have a few things to figure out in an attempt to balance some regions and add new members but nothing is in concrete as of this moment," said current President and longtime Treasurer Gerald Martin. "We look forward to another outstanding season of competition."
